R4A is a volunteer operated dog rescue funded by donations. Our primary mission is to help LOCAL dogs in our community and currently in the shelter system. Right now in animal welfare we are in a literal crisis. We, along with every single rescue and shelter, are full, operating beyond capacity, and are all completely overwhelmed due to the unprecedented number of people choosing to not spay/neuter, vaccinate, and keep their pets for their entire lifetime. To bring a pet into your life is an intentional choice and people need to take the commitment & responsibility of a pet seriously. There is absolutely no way for rescues and shelters to be able to keep up with the sheer number of animals being intentionally displaced by their people.
