Houston Pets Alive! (HPA!) is not your average pet rescue. HPA! acts as a last resort for municipal shelters like BARC, Harris County Animal Shelter, and Baytown Animal Shelter, to save the animals who have been passed over by everyone else. Every day HPA! saves pets who have no other options-- typically neonatal or “bottle baby” kittens, nursing moms, dogs and cats with illnesses or injuries, and those with behavior issues--from euthanasia, within hours or even minutes. HPA! aims to increase live outcomes for these pets through robust adoption programs, high-volume spay and neuter, and community education. HPA! is determined to make Houston the largest no-kill city in the country.
