Border Tails Rescue is a licensed no-kill animal rescue and welfare organization focused on rescuing and adopting stray dogs globally, with a unique focus on Mexico. Our physical shelter facility allows dogs to be viewed daily. We collaborate with rural shelters across the country, including TX, AR, AL, LA, KY, IN, MI, and CACC, Chicago’s open intake shelter. Founded in December 2019 by Harleigh Garcia, who was 20 at the time, BTR is a woman-founded nonprofit registered with the Illinois Secretary of State. We operate entirely on donations and adoption fees.
